GBB seeks an experienced Structured Cabling Project Coordinator to manage and oversee passive infrastructure projects across multiple client sites. The role is project coordination and quality oversight, not hands-on implementation — actual cabling work (wiring, drilling, labeling, termination) is carried out by specialized passive subcontractors. The GBB coordinator is responsible for planning, vendor management, material tracking, quality assurance, and ensuring projects are delivered to specification and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Survey & Network Design:
- Visit greenfield and brownfield sites to assess passive infrastructure requirements.
- Based on the number of network endpoints (users, printers, IP cameras, biometrics, data center ports, etc.), design the switching architecture – Access, Distribution, and Firewall layers.
- Plan wireless coverage (APs, controllers) where Wi-Fi is in scope.
- Plan IP camera placement and NVR requirements where surveillance is included.
- Plan VOIP port requirements.
- Ensure designs comply with TIA/EIA, BICSI, and customer standards.
Material Planning & Procurement
- Prepare detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) with per-unit pricing for both supply and service components; estimates should be within 10% of actual requirement.
- Plan and initiate material orders well in advance to avoid last-minute delays.
- Coordinate with vendors on pricing, availability, and delivery timelines for racks, cables, and ancillary items.
- Validate material delivery against Delivery Challans and Purchase Orders; flag discrepancies.
- Track material applied at site — identify if usage matches the PO, flag surplus material or work done beyond scope.
Vendor & Site Coordination
- Coordinate day-to-day with passive subcontractors — plan site visits, track progress, and follow up on timelines.
- Proactively visit sites to verify status, without waiting for vendor updates.
- Plan I/O numbering, port labeling, and color-coding schemes before work begins to ensure documentation-ready output.
- Ensure passive work quality: crimping, casing, capping, and I/O fixing meet GBB standards.
- Ensure compliance with cabling best practices: adequate space in raceways and conduits for future certification; network cabling routed away from electrical wiring; external cabling protected against weather and animals.
Active Infrastructure Handover
- Where projects include active components (switches, Wi-Fi APs, controllers, firewalls), coordinate their delivery and installation once passive work is complete.
- Provide management IP, remote access, and site access to GBB’s active team to complete configuration.
Documentation & Reporting
- Share daily progress reports with GBB stakeholders and clients.
- Maintain comprehensive records of cable routes, port mapping, material consumption, and site progress.
- Prepare as-built documentation and installed-base reports; obtain customer sign-off on project completion.
Ongoing Support
- For passive support issues (I/O not working, camera faults, etc.) — coordinate vendor or self-visits to diagnose and resolve.
- Maintain relationships with passive vendors for both new projects and support calls.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in electrical engineering, telecommunications, networking, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in structured cabling — project coordination, site supervision, or design (hands-on implementation experience is acceptable but the role itself does not involve implementation)
- Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, floor plans, and blueprints
- Understanding of copper/fiber cabling, connectors, patch panels, racks, and passive infrastructure components
- Familiarity with switching architecture design for enterprise networks
- Strong attention to detail, especially for material tracking and documentation
- Excellent time management — ability to run multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Proficiency with Fluke testing tools and OTDRs.
- Knowledge of TIA/EIA and BICSI cabling standards.
- Structured cabling certifications (BICSI RCDD, CDCD).
- Experience coordinating surveillance (IP camera/NVR) or VOIP infrastructure projects.
Soft Skills & Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel across India for project monitoring — expect a few days outside Hyderabad each month.
- Comfortable visiting industrial and factory sites, including those with mandatory PPE (hard hats, safety boots) or cleanroom requirements (pharma sites).
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Clear and proactive communicator — daily updates to stakeholders, escalation when needed.
- Customer-facing confidence for sign-off and handover meetings.
- Adaptable and self-directed; comfortable managing work independently at remote sites.
Salary– Rs. 20,000–₹35,000 per month, commensurate with experience and skills
